Andrea Esteban, new VCF Femenino head coach
Throughout the 2020-21 season, Andrea Esteban has worked alongside José Bargues, whose stint as VCF Femenino first team head coach concluded this past June 30th. We wish him all the best in his new position at the VCF Academy.
“First of all, I’d like to thank the trust that the club has placed in me to take up this new role ahead of this upcoming season which has just started. After a year in which the team have managed to compete from start to finish, carrying on with the same line of work and in the same vein as the last campaign is really important for the project that the club has in store so as for the players that continue and the new ones that will arrive".
“I’m facing this new challenge with the utmost excitement and confidence to take charge of this duty as first team coach aiming to convey an idea and way of working to the club, the coaching staff and more specifically to the players so that they’re able to be at their best every day”.
Born in Teruel on February 1996, signed for VCF Femenino in the 2017-18 season. On the 13th of March 2019 she announced her retirement form professional football due to successive knee injuries (five) even though she remained tied to the club as a first team coaching staff backup.
Andrea Esteban made her top flight debut at 15 years of age and played her final official match on the 23rd of September up against UDG Tenerife on Matchday 3 of Liga Iberdrola 2018-19. In the 2019-2020 season she was appointed Under-15 regional women’s team head coach by the FFCV.
